If you are planning a trip to Atlanta, chances are you have some things in mind you would like to see and do. Suggested itineraries for Atlanta can be incredibly helpful when planning your own Atlanta trip. The city of Atlanta is not only an enormous metropolis, but there are many popular attractions worth seeing. To get the most out of your Atlanta trip, try some recommendations from a suggested itinerary for Atlanta.

1-3 Days

With only a few days on your Atlanta itinerary, you will most likely want to try and hit the major attractions first. On your first day, head to the World of Coca Cola Museum in the morning. It will take a few hours to make your way through the entire self-guided tour, so stop for lunch when you are finished. Next, head to nearby Underground Atlanta. Here, you can shop, eat dinner, and spend an entire evening touring the historical streets and maybe even seeing a local musical act perform at one of the Underground bars.

Other sites that must be included on your 3-day Atlanta itinerary include trips to Centennial Olympic Park, the Atlanta History Center, and the Georgia Aquarium. Be sure to have dinner in the Buckhead neighborhood at least one night during your Atlanta trip. Buckhead is considered to be the posh spot for the city"s best restaurants, and there is plenty of shopping and entertainment there, as well.

4-7 Days

With multiple days, your Atlanta itinerary should include visits to the sites listed above plus a few more. If you had fun touring the World of Coca Cola Museum, you might like taking a tour to the birthplace and former residence of Coke's inventor, Dr. John Pemberton. From Atlanta, the drive will take about an hour each way.

Art lovers should not leave Atlanta without seeing the High Museum of Art, and may even want to move it up in priority to their first day. An Atlanta trip to the High Museum of Art could take up an entire day, but most visitors will tire after a morning or afternoon spent there. In the afternoon, try a trip to Piedmont Park or the Atlanta Botanical Gardens, where you can relax and enjoy the beauty of these urban escapes.

7+ Days

With a week or more, you will have ample time to relax. In addition to the activities mentioned above, take a tour of downtown Atlanta. Whether you plan your own walking tour, or take a guided tour, the city of Atlanta is worth seeing. You can also take a trip to the Kennesaw Civil War Museum and the Kennesaw Mountain National Park Museum. Check out the Tullie Smith Farm, or head over to Zoo Atlanta. If you do take advantage of suggested itineraries for Atlanta that include many of these activities, consider purchasing the CityPass, which provides discounted prices on many of Atlanta"s most popular attractions, including many of the attractions mentioned here.
