The ballpark is located at 755 Hank Aaron Drive in southeast Atlanta, Georgia. Built in 1996, the stadium was constructed specifically for the 1996 Summer Olympics in Atlanta, and it served as the centerpiece for the Games, hosting the track and field events and the closing ceremony. Between September 1996 and April 1997, the stadium was transformed into a permanent 50,000-seat open-air baseball park with natural grass and has been used by the Braves ever since.
