World of Coca Cola in Atlanta, Georgia
The World of Coca Cola Museum is located in Atlanta, Georgia and is one of the most popular attractions in the city. Coca Cola-lovers around the world may be interested to know that this popular soft drink was actually invented and first sold in a pharmacy in downtown Atlanta, and tourists today can take a self-guided tour through the Coca Cola Museum Atlanta to learn everything a person could hope to know about the history of Coca Cola.
This history of Coca Cola began in 1886, when it was first presented to the world in Jacob’s Pharmacy in downtown Atlanta. Interested tourists can also make a separate trip to Jacob’s actual residence, located just outside the city. The World of Coca Cola Museum itself is full of fun things to do and interesting things travelers may or may not know about Coca Cola. At the World of Coca Cola in Atlanta, tourists will begin their self-guided tour of the museum on the third floor, and make their way from the earliest days of the drink to modern day Coca Cola information.
The museum moved to its current location near Centennial Park in 2007, and the tour of the World of Coca Cola allows visitors to see multimedia attractions, including the short film Inside the Happiness Factory and a Pop Culture Gallery that celebrates the iconic influence of Coca-Cola on popular culture and art. There is also a fully functioning bottling line, which produces an eight-ounce glass bottle of Coca-Cola for every guest. More than 1,200 artifacts are on display, including vintage bottles and a 1939 Chevrolet Coca-Cola delivery truck from Argentina.
Visitors can also enjoy the 4-D movie In Search of the Secret Formula before moving on to the Taste It! exhibit, where more than 60 different beverages from around the world are available to sample. The museum offers VIP tours, a chance to meet the Coca-Cola polar bear, and educational opportunities for students of all ages.
The World of Coca Cola Museum is open seven days a week, barring any special events. A current schedule is always posted online, as are prices. There is virtually no need to purchase tickets in advance, as the museum is quite large, but if you wish to do so, you can order them through the World of Coca-Cola's web site. To avoid crowds, try and plan your trip to the museum on a weekday rather than a weekend, but no matter when you go, you're sure to find this attraction to be an excellent addition to your itinerary for any trip to Atlanta.
