A small Country with great spaces

Croatia is an old crossroad between East and West, between Central Europe and the Mediterranean world. Croatia today borders with Slovenia (north-west), Hungary (north), Serbia (east north), the Bosnia-Herzegovina (south-east) and the Montenegro (south). The long Adriatic Sea border separates Croatia from Italy.

Parallel to the Adriatic coast one thousand Dalmatian islands offer an amazing sightseeing: 1185 in number, considering also reefs and cliffs, of which only sixty are populated. The largest island is Krk, in northern Adriatic, while the two greatest peninsulas are Istria and the peninsula of Pelješac, halfway on the main road between Split and Dubrovnik.

Special mention must be made of the National parks on the islands: the national Park of the Brijuni, a small archipelago in the south-western istrian coast, with uncontaminated nature and rich with archaeological remains, the national Park of the Kornati, an archipelago of the central Dalmatia, with 140 among desert islands and reefs, surrounded by a sea of thousand blue tonalities, and, finally, the national Park of Mljet, the greenest island of the Adriatic.
