Another National Park in Croatia is the Brijuni islands which were proclaimed as a national park over twenty years ago. There are a total of islands which make the park, the largest being the Veliki and Mali Brijuni. The islands are a haven of unspoilt nature pockets which create a natural base to a safari park and a zoo. There are also traces of ancient Neolithic habitation have been detected on the island but one of the grandest archeological sites here is the pre-historic settlement on Gradina hill.
