Every year, a fine collection of Daytona Beach events take place, and most of them are known to attract healthy crowds. As one might expect, the motorcycle related events in Daytona Beach bring in plenty of bikers, and if you like to ride, they're for you. If cars are more your thing, there are definitely some annual events in Daytona Beach that will be right up your alley. The Daytona 500 tops the list. The main Daytona Beach festivals and events revolve around motorcycles and cars, but they aren't the only events. It seems there's always something going on in Daytona Beach, and checking the schedule to see what's on tap during your visit is always a good idea.
Speedweeks is one of the featured Daytona Beach events, and it's ideal for racing fans. In late January and early February, this four-week-long event is in full swing, and it's capped off by the event of all events in Daytona Beach—the Daytona 500. Other races lead up to the "Super Bowl of Stock Car Racing," as the Daytona 500 is often labeled. The Daytona International Speedway serves as the main venue for the Speedweeks races, and vacation packages that include your accommodations and race tickets are available if you're interested. It's always a good idea to look into the available vacation package options when planning your Daytona Beach visit, whether you plan on attending a festival or not.
Speedweeks is just one of a few different car events in Daytona Beach that you can enjoy. Come early July, the Coke Zero 400 provides racing fans with another chance to experience a race at the famed Speedway. In March, the Speedway is home to a car show that also gets a lot of attention, so you might plan your visit to the city around that. There's also the Turkey Rod Run, which is appropriately held on Thanksgiving Day. It's hard to put a finger on this event, as it's kind of like a car show, a fair, and a flea market. You'll see some of the coolest muscle cars in the country at this festival, which is held at the Daytona International Speedway.
If motorcycles are more your thing, there are two Daytona Beach festivals that are bound to please. They are Bike Week and Biketoberfest. Bike Week, which lasts ten days and takes place in February and March, is one of the world's largest motorcycle events. It attracts some 500,000 visitors every year. As for Biketoberfest, it takes place over the course of a few days in mid-October. Like Bike Week in Daytona Beach, this event features races, shows, exhibits, and concerts. If you really like motorcycles, then enjoying a demo ride on a new motorcycle at the Daytona International Speedway is bound to figure among the highlights of your Biketoberfest experience.
If you're not exactly a big motorcycle or car fan, then you might avoid the city when these events are going on. The streets can be jam packed, and the traffic is often brutal. If you do like motorcycles and cars, however, visiting during these Daytona Beach festivals is recommended. For those who are interested in other Daytona Beach events, there's always food festivals like the Shores Wine & Food Festival and the New Smyrna Beach Uncorked! Fine Wine and Food Festival. If you like Cajun food, then the Daytona Beach Bayou Boil is sure to make you happy.
A discussion about the annual events in Daytona Beach would not be complete without mention of Spring Break. Daytona Beach is one of the country's most popular Spring Break destinations, and there's no shortage of parties when it's in full swing. Some might say that Spring Break in Daytona Beach isn't as crazy as it used to be, but you'd hardly know it if you choose to visit when the college kids are letting loose. Daytona Beach nightlife is alive and well, and it only gets more lively when the top Daytona Beach events and festivals are going on.
