Silverthorne Colorado

Although Silverthorne Colorado and the neighboring town of Dillon are, for the most part, bedroom communities for ski industry employees, there are some good reasons to visit these towns. Both towns offer some interesting cultural events. In Dillon, the award-winning Lake Dillon Theatre presents top quality performances. In Silverthorne, the beautiful Silverthorne Pavilion features special events, concerts and theatrical performances. The Silverthorne Pavilion is also a popular venue for Summit County weddings. Silverthorne Colorado is also known as one of the best fly-fishing locations on Colorado. However, the town is probably most famous for the Silverthorne Outlets.

The Silverthorne Outlets seem to be a year-round vacation destination in their own right. Every ski season, the Silverthorne Outlets serve as a way for snow sport enthusiasts to bribe their non-skiing or riding spouses into accompanying them on them on their winter vacations. Thus, while skiers and riders drop into the terrain parks at the Summit County Colorado ski resorts, their spouses shop till they drop at the Silverthorne Outlets.

Given that the Silverthorne Outlets are on the free Summit Stage bus route, they are accessible without a car. There is also a free shuttle bus that travels within the outlet area. These include Mac, Perscriptives, Bobbi Brown and others. The Fragrance and Cosmetic Company is a Lancôme products store. Lancôme includes Ralph Lauren and a number of other companies.

In addition to being a popular shopping mall, the Silverthorne Outlets also provide family entertainment. This may include story telling, caricatures and musical performances by the National Repertory orchestra. Yet perhaps the best surprise you will find in the Silverthorne Outlets is the Summit Historical Society. The management of the Outlets has generously donated the space to this fascinating museum. Amidst the vast array of modern shopping facilities that make up the Silverthorne Outlets, the Summit Historical Society provides a welcome retreat for anyone interested in exploring the soul of Colorado. Here, you can journey back in time as you walk through a Victorian school house or tea parlor.

During the summer, the Silverthorne Outlets are one of the hosts for the Vettes in the Rockies Festival, which features a parade of old-fashioned Corvettes that travel down Main Street in the neighboring town of Frisco. Although Frisco is the primary venue for this event, a few Corvettes are displayed in the parking lots of the Outlets of Silverthorne.

After a hard day at the Outlets or on the slopes, you will probably be looking for a place to rest. Given that the town is not directly near a ski slope, Silverthorne lodging is somewhat less expensive than the rest of Summit County. Silverthorne lodging includes motels and hotels such as the Sheraton, La Quinta, Days Inn and Quality Inn and Suites. However, if you are looking for more luxurious Silverthorne lodging, consider a condo rental in the Wildernest area of Silverthorne.
