For anyone who has ever wished for the opportunity to hang out with their favorite rock band, Hard Rock Hotel's Wasted Space in Las Vegas could be the spot for you. Open since July 2008, Wasted Space was the brainchild of punk action celebrity Carey Hart. "I wanted a place where my friends and I could hang out and listen to some great rock music with a cool atmosphere. There were no options in Vegas, so I made my own," Hart said in a 2008 Hard Rock Hotel press release. In a city teeming with clubs and lounges, the Wasted Space Nightclub is a self-proclaimed anti-club, deliberately separating itself from the rest of Las Vegas nightlife. This Hard Rock nightclub prides itself on providing a decadent Las Vegas entertainment experience without the limits of a velvet rope.

Though an adjacent lounge provides additional seating when needed, the interior space of the Wasted Space Nightclub is decidedly intimate, measuring only 5,000 square feet, including the stage. There are seventeen custom-designed booths surrounding a small stage, making the audience feel as though they are guests at an exclusive backstage party. Hart extends this laid-back atmosphere to the club's dress code, or lack thereof. Feel free to wear your jeans and T-shirt to Wasted Space at the Hard Rock Hotel; you'll fit right in. The club is conveniently located in the Hard Rock Hotel, just two miles east of the Las Vegas Strip.

Wasted Space in Las Vegas also sets itself apart from other Las Vegas clubs by steering away from the dance music scene. This Hard Rock nightclub specializes in rock, drawing world-class DJs and live performers such as Pink, Gavin Rossdale, The All-American Rejects, and Static Lullaby. Even the unique drink names reflect this rock-and-roll influence, serving Sunday Bloody Sundays instead of a Bloody Mary and a drink honoring Carey Hart himself called the Hart Attack.

The edgy design of the Wasted Space in Las Vegas stays true to the rebellious grit of the rock-and-roll culture with dark colors, wrought iron, gritty textures, and dramatic lighting. Unique tattoo designs embellish many of the surfaces, mirroring the body art of the club's owner. The Wasted Space Nightclub also boasts an impressive 30-foot wall of memorabilia that pays tribute to rock legends.

Wasted Space is closed on Mondays, but the neighboring lounge is open 24 hours a day. Reservations by phone are required for a booth with bottle service, and keep in mind that the wait in line for those without VIP access can be up to an hour.

Naming this rebellious Hard Rock nightclub Wasted Space can be seen as a nod to the rebellious nature of the rock scene that it represents, as the misnomered Wasted Space Nightclub is certainly no waste of space at all.
